Angel On My Shoulder

Late in 2009 I got into this show Ghetto House Radio that we played on Wild when I was working there. Every week I'd grab a couple of the mixes and listen to them while I ran the trails in Avila before work in the mornings or while I was driving to and from San Luis. Ghetto House Radio is pretty much in constant rotation still in my life, as a lot of my friends drop mixes for them every week and one of my other friends does the imaging for the show.

This song was on a mix earlier this year. Probably at the height of my "what the hell is going on," period. And it does pretty much sum up how I felt almost all the time back then. Also the album "Strobelight Seduction," is one of my favorite whole albums of 2010.

I wrote about this song another time, but yeah this was my first "favorite" at Wild. I used to drive home after work listening to it with my windows rolled down, feeling all pimp and stuff...

But there are more!

It's weird to think this was just a year ago.

To be honest, working over there in the Sea Shanty was one of the best/worst times of my life. I miss it, on the real.

I was a kid when MTV was new, so there are a ton of songs but here are two.


Madonna - Open Your Heart

I love Madonna. Sue me. I listened to a lot of Madonna growing up. But I remember this video from being little.

I also listened to a metric ton of Prince but he's a butthole and won't let his music be posted on Youtube. This is annoying.



The Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter

I also LOVED the Bangles when I was in 2nd & 3rd grade. My friend Ria and I tried out for the talent show lip syncing to Walk Like an Egyptian. We didn't make it obviously but we had great outfits. Ria had all the best clothes. I can't remember when she moved away, but I do remember her mom telling her we couldn't be best friends anymore after she moved away. Stupid, who tells their kids that?

Tomorrow is the last day of this meme and I'm actually going to have to write real posts after this. Wow. Should be...fascinating.

I first heard this song back when I was a senior in high school. This guy I knew was also a DJ and did some club stuff as well. We used to talk on the phone quite a bit and he was always telling me music I should listen to and this was a song he said reminded him of me. The first time I heard it, I was hooked. Great stuff. There's a cover of it by Jesus on Ecstasy that's pretty bad ass too.

Another installment of music I like that makes no sense....

Looked up Bat for Lashes on the suggestion of the world renown artist Jeremy Cross a few years ago. I love love love this song.

Another one of those things that's probably uncool for me to like because maybe it's hella hipster or whatever, but I love this particular Pretty Girls Make Graves song quite a bit.

Today was the first time I've ever heard of The Hundred in the Hands, and I wouldn't have without my good friend DJ Nick V the Violator. Nick is a bad ass DJ and when he says listen to something, I do it.

I first heard Kaskade in a mix on the amazing Ghetto House Radio. This video makes little to no sense, but the song is awesome.

So what

It's no secret that I love house music, although considering where I work, it probably should be. Oh well I have a wide variety of tastes, freakin' sue me.

Anyway it's Friday and one of my favorite DJ's from back home put up a mini mix today, just in time!
