What the hell is a Snookie

Okay seriously, I'm seeing more and more girls trying to emulate this chick Snookie from that show I've never seen, Jersey Shore.

I'll be the first to call out a hater, so let me point out that I'm not hating on Snookie. Maybe she's the cute one or maybe it's in the attitude, I'll never know because I've never seen this show. But I can't get behind the look personally. I mean what is that on her head? Is that a hairdo or a storage spot for more self tanner and mascara? I'm just confused...

I guess what brought this on is that the Avila Beach Beer festival is going on now and I've seen a lot of girls that are rockin' this look walking through the town and hanging out at Mr Ricks. I mean go on girl, get yours if you want to be orange and have a hair mountain on your head, I'm not mad about it. Just confused.

my newest musical find

It's no secret, I listen to A LOT of music. Since dropping in and joining the 95.3 The Beach / WiLD 1061 family I've had my ears exposed to tons of new stuff I probably wouldn't have listened to before.

My most recent find came through a friend posting a remix of La Roux "Bulletproof" by a group called Hyper Crush. So I started going through youtube and these guys are a lot of fun if you like dance music, which as it turns out my Top 40 roots never left me, and I do like dance music, a lot.

being thankful

I'm gonna get all emotional and real here, so try to follow me here... And forgive me for letting my "girlie" side show....

Less than a year ago I walked into a little building out by the airport in SLO for the first time to start a new job. I knew like two people there and it was truly "the first day of school" all over again. I was convinced everyone thought I was over/underdressed, asking stupid questions and laughing too loudly. It's okay to admit that by the way people, even as an adult, you will still feel like this, unless you have epic amounts of Prozac hidden somewhere. (See my jokes, they suck! Why do you people listen to my show?!)

But a load of time has passed and I woke up one day and realized that, whoa, I'm home. These people aren't just my friends, they're my family. I'm a very lucky girl, and I just wanted to put that down on virtual paper. Because the more you count your blessings, the happier and more rich you feel. Trust me.

I promise my next blog will be about going to bars, listening to music and sports. Or something.

My favorite song at the moment

I heard this song driving home from work a few weeks ago and just fell in love with it. There's a lot of haters out there saying bringing Haley in is sort of a sell out move, but I don't think so.

B.O.B's new album "The Adventures of Bobby Ray," is out now and also features a song with Rivers Cuomo from Weezer, which I can't wait to hear.
